A cycling holiday not to be missed!! The Tour Down Under combines the stunning scenery of the Adelaide area, the great Aussie summer climate and a chance to soak up the atmosphere of a professional bike race. For 2019 we will once again be staying in 5 star accommodation in the heart of Adelaide.
Our 2019 package will include 8 nights in the heart of Adelaide – giving great access to the best rides, restaurants, cafes and the TDU Village. But, don’t book your flights just yet!!
We have planned our tour dates around 13th – 21st January based on Tour Down Under timings from previous years. These dates have not officially been released by TDU organisers yet. For your peace of mind, the $500 deposit to secure you place on our TDU trip, is fulling refundable upon cancellation within two weeks of the official TDU dates announcement.
We believe a cycling holiday is just that – a combination of great bike rides with a relaxed holiday atmosphere.
Our pick up point is Adelaide airport at midday on 13th January. This gives plenty of time to unpack your bike and bags and relax before we head to the evening entertainment – the Peoples Choice Classic street race.
The itinerary over the next eight days will be based around the TDU route announcement. We will select the most exciting stages and best viewing points to really enjoy the first World Tour race of 2019.
On 20th January we will head out for our final ride together and then catch the last of the race excitement as the final stage blasts through the Adelaide street circuit just metres from out hotel. We won’t be rushing you to pack your bikes and get to the chaos of Adelaide airport this afternoon. We think a more enjoyable way to celebrate the weeks achievements is to have a relaxed final dinner together. After all, a cycling holiday is all about the combination of cycling fun and holiday relaxing.
On 21st January we will check out of our hotel and drop you to Adelaide airport for your flight home.
Each Kiwi Style Bike Tour has a full ride itinerary, which includes shorter ride options where practicable. We provide an atmosphere where no ride is compulsory and can advise which rides to shorten to ensure you enjoy all of the features of this tour. We have the experience and knowledge of the areas to make changes and adjustments to ensure the best cycling experience. We are in the Australian summer and weather can have a major impact on ride options. We aim to accommodate the needs and abilities of all riders in each group and will recommend changes accordingly.
The Tour Down Under is rated 2 star, with a combination of flat and rolling/hill ride on most days. While you don’t need to be a racer a good level of general fitness is required to enjoy this tour. Remember no rides are compulsory.
